The Neuenhauser Group, headquartered in Neuenhaus, is the largest employer in the county of Bentheim. This is according to a ranking published by the Osnabrück-Emsland-Grafschaft Bentheim Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK). The mechanical engineering company has 1881 employees. This puts the Niedergrafschaft-based company in 8th place in the IHK district.

The second largest employer in the district is the Euregio-Klinik in Nordhorn, which has grown to 1580 employees in recent years. This puts it in eleventh place in the Osnabrück-Emsland-Grafschaft Bentheim economic region. With 850 employees, Lebenshilfe Grafschaft Bentheim is the third largest employer. This puts it in 30th place in the ranking.
